I have been making this Sweet Chilli Sauce for more than 10 years. It is so versatile. I add it to a stir fry, use as a dipping sauce, spread on sandwiches. My father (bless his soul, said it tasted great on mashed potato!).
Easy to make and so much better than any Chilli Sauce I have ever bought.
I use recycled bottles to bottle. It keeps for a long time preserved by the vinegar.

Ingredients

Fresh Red Chillies 250g
White Sugar 3 cups
White Vinegar 3.25 cups
Garlic Cloves Crushed 10
Fresh Ginger 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp

Method:

  • Combine all ingredients in a saucepan
  • Boil until thickened (approx 30 min)
  • Pour into sterilised bottles
